About the project: "The Princess and The Pea" is a fairy tale originally written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen and first published in 1835. The story is about a prince who is searching for a true princess to marry. In the story, the prince meets a young woman who claims to be a princess, but he is unsure if she is telling the truth. To test her, he places a pea under a pile of 20 mattresses and 20 feather beds, and asks her to sleep on it. The next morning, the princess complains of a terrible night's sleep and tells the prince she could feel something hard under the mattresses. The prince then knows for certain that she is a true princess, as only someone with extremely sensitive skin could feel a pea through so many layers of bedding. He marries her and they live happily ever after. The story is often interpreted as a commentary on the importance of being honest and true to oneself, as well as the importance of sensitivity and empathy.
