There's so much to look forward to in 2019 — Disney (which includes Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm) will be releasing three live-action remakes of their classic animated movies, two Marvel movies, two sequels to their animated films, and even another Star Wars movie! Grab your calendar, it’s going to be a busy year!
Captain Marvel gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. This movie marks a hallmark moment for Marvel Studios – it is the first female-led Marvel superhero film.
Disney has released a new trailer for the live-action adaptation of the story of the floppy-eared flying elephant, and one thing is clear — it’s going to be a real tearjerker. Tim Burton’s Dumbo will star Eva Green, Michael Keaton, and Colin Farrell.
Avengers 4 has finally got a title: Avengers: Endgame which teases a brutal end for some of Earth's mightiest heroes.
After the huge success of the live-version of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, it's no wonder Disney is hard at work bringing back the beloved 90's classics. This time it’s Aladdin’s turn — Will Smith will be taking on the role of The Genie; the cast also includes Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine. Check out the first teaser-trailer here
By the time the movie arrives, fans will have waited nearly a decade for the latest chapter on Woody, Buzz, and all their friends. This time it's all about Forky who is a new addition to the Toy Story gang.
The original Lion King is one of Disney's most beloved animated films, and there’s no doubt the theaters will be packed for the new adaptation. The new Lion King, however, will have to be more than a shot-for-shot remake if it wants to repeat the success of Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book.
Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the film is inspired by the hugely popular Eoin Colfer book. The original novel was released back in 2001 and spawned a whole series of eight adventures. Colfer summed up the series as ”Die Hard with fairies.”
After the incredible popularity of the first Frozen movie (highest-grossing animated film of all time), there was no way Disney was going to let this one without a sequel.
One year until the conclusion of the Star Wars sequel trilogy! Lucasfilm has referred to Episode IX as the final film of the Skywalker saga.
