"The Rainbow Fish" Play Needs Teens

Performers aged 12 and up are welcome to audition for "The Rainbow Fish" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: With shiny, multi-colored scales, Rainbow Fish is the most beautiful fish in all of the ocean, and the only one of his (or her!) kind. But when Rainbow Fish refuses to share his vibrant, shimmering scales, the whole ocean seems to turn against the vain creature. Unhappy that no one adores him anymore, the Rainbow Fish seeks out the wise Octopus, who helps him learn that it’s far better to be admired for being kind than for being beautiful. Additional info: AUDITIONS FOR THIS PRODUCTION WILL CONSIST OF COLD READINGS FROM THE SCRIPT. Auditioners should be ready for high-energy, sustained physical performance and a song exercise. No prepared songs are needed! Directors ask that participants arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork and introduce themselves to the stage managers and directors. If you have a headshot and resume, please bring them (not required). There are no audition appointments, and actors do not need to prepare monologues. The evening will cover the auditions for both shows, beginning with the Young Audiences Production. During each show’s audition, all actors will have an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a group setting, with the director selecting sides and combinations of participants to read together or independently.
