About the project: What We Curry is a deeply personal coming-of-age drama inspired by real experiences from my childhood in Northeast Washington, D.C. The film explores Black boyhood, brotherhood, innocence, and the realities of growing up in an environment where young people are often exposed to violence before they fully understand the world. At its heart, this story is about more than violence. It's about Black boy joy, friendship, community, and the emotional weight of the experiences we carry into adulthood.
