About the project: Based on actual events that occurred in 1925, “Floyd Collins” is a musical that tells the true story of a Kentucky cave explorer (Floyd Collins) with big dreams who finds himself trapped in the very cavern he’d hoped would bring him fame and fortune. A troubled rescue effort and a media circus ensue. As tensions mount both above and below ground, Floyd does his best to stay hopeful in a dire situation. Additional info: CALLBACKS: by director invitation only – Saturday, November 21, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Production dates March 12 – March 21, 2027 Fri/Sat at 7:30 p.m. | Sun at 2:00 p.m. Call time for actors will be 1 hour before each performance. Rehearsal schedule Please find the rehearsal schedule here. Rehearsals are scheduled to start on January 24, 2027. Rehearsals will be Sunday-Thursday, (Sundays from 2 pm-6 pm, weekdays from 7-10 pm) What to prepare: Please prepare 32 bars or 60-90 seconds of a piece you feel fits the style of the show (musical theatre or otherwise). You may sing a selection from the show if you like. If you are having trouble selecting a piece, the creative team has provided several cuttings from the show’s score here that you may use for your audition. There will be a live accompanist at auditions. Please bring your sheet music with your starting and stopping points clearly marked for the accompanist. If interested, please apply.
