About the project: Tayla is a hardworking single mother doing everything she can to keep herself and her young son afloat. Her child’s father, Jay, always seems to have an excuse when she needs help—he’s broke, busy, or simply doesn’t have it. But Tayla soon discovers Jay has plenty of time, money, and energy to help Raven, another single mother, and her children. Watching the father of her child step up for somebody else’s family while allowing his own son to struggle pushes Tayla to her breaking point. But instead of letting the betrayal destroy her, she realizes she has to stop waiting for Jay to become the father she needs him to be. Sometimes the person who watches you drown will turn around and throw somebody else a lifeline. "He couldn’t help the mother of his child… but somehow always had enough to help somebody else’s."
