"A Christmas Carol" Show Seeks Kids and Teens
Looking for performers ages 7 and up for "A Christmas Carol" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge sums up his feelings about Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those who mean the most to him. Additional info: If you are under the age of 18, a parent/guardian MUST be present at auditions and will be required to sign a consent form. All rehearsal conflicts MUST be communicated on the audition form. Rehearsals will predominantly be held Monday-Thursday, 6:30-9:30, and some weekends, but you could be called for any day. ALL conflicts must be listed, including weekends. NO SHOWS or Tech Week rehearsals can be missed. Multiple conflicts brought up after casting can result in dismissal from the cast or recasting. This is at the discretion of the production team. Please BRING: comfortable shoes (sneakers or dance shoes; Crocs and sandals are not allowed), comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and a fun attitude! WHAT TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS For children ages 7 to 12, the audition will consist of a vocal audition. For ages 13+, the audition will consist of 2 parts: a vocal audition and a dance audition. If you are auditioning for The Ghost of Christmas Future, there will be a solo dance audition as well. For the music audition: Children (ages 7-12) will sing the cut from A Place Called Home as their audition piece. The Music Director will spend a few moments teaching each audition piece. Auditioners will then sing the cut they have selected with the track. Directors recommend reviewing and rehearsing your chosen cut before auditions so you can feel confident and prepared when you step onstage! The Lights of Long Ago (Recommended if auditioning for the Ghost of Christmas Past, Emily, or The Fezziwigs) Abundance and Charity (Recommended if singing for The Ghost of Christmas Present) Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Today (Recommended if auditioning for Scrooge/Young Scrooge) God Bless Us, Everyone (Recommended for our newer auditioners) For the dance audition: The Choreographer will teach a short piece of the choreography. Smaller groups will then perform the piece to the best of their ability. For The Ghost of Christmas Future, the Choreographer will teach a short piece. Then the auditioners will dance this piece solo. Make sure to wear comfortable closed-toed shoes you can dance in. Barefoot, sandals, Crocs, etc., will not be allowed due to the safety of all auditioners. Other Information: A production calendar will be provided at auditions. Please make sure to note all potential rehearsal conflicts on your audition form. No conflicts will be allowed for Tech Week (November 17th-20th) or any performance dates.
