"Miracle on 34th Street" Show Needs Kids

About the project: Miracle on 34th Street” is Meredith Willson’s musical adaptation of the classic film, featuring a story about a skeptical young girl and her mother, Doris, who works at Macy's. When the real (?) Kris Kringle is hired as Santa Claus, he must convince them—and the world—that he is the genuine article, spreading love and holiday spirit throughout New York City. The deeper message is about believing in the impossible, the importance of faith, and the impact of kindness and generosity. Behind all of the colorful and lively songs lies the theme of skepticism versus belief, particularly through the character of Doris Walker, who represents a realistic worldview challenged by the magic of Kris Kringle. Yes, Virginia, there is. Additional info: Everyone will sing about 1 minute of a song of their choosing in a musical theatre style or a Christmas song – preferably a vintage tune. Once everyone has sung, you will read from the provided scenes or improvise. CALLBACKS You will receive a text message by Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, if you are needed for a callback. If you do not receive this text by Tuesday, then you will not be needed for a callback. Rehearsals will begin on or around Oct. 19, with individual rehearsals for leads, dancers, and special musical numbers starting in September (dates determined by availability).
