About the project: Miss Elvira Pinch despises everything about Christmas in Newville — the bright lights, the colorful decorations, the joyful noise, the shiny gifts, the sweet treats, and... ugh! Did we mention all that confounded noise?! So, when Miss Pinch finds a loophole in the town charter, she bullies the mayor into ridding Newville of Christmas once and for all! No more wreaths, no more presents, no more Christmas trees, no more candy canes. Not even cranberry soda pop! “I hate everything Christmas,” shouts Miss Pinch, and then with her newfound power, she simply makes it all stop! But little Gabby Gazoo and her mother, too, believe there’s more to Christmas than Christmas things. Maybe even Miss Pinch has love in her heart and songs to sing? With the help of a friendly handyperson who narrates in familiar rhyme, this entertaining holiday comedy is fun for actors of all ages and will delight audiences while reminding them about the spirit of peace, joy, and love that fills the season.
