"Crossing a Deep River" Needs a Girl

Looking for an African-American girl ages 14 and up for the staged reading of "Crossing a Deep River: A Ritual Drama in Three Movements". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Rate: Actors will be paid a stipend of $850 for the run. Additional info: This is a staged ensemble work for actors, celebrating the survival of African people in the New World and embodying the transformative power of memory, story, and ritual to heal historical trauma. Interested parties should: Prepare a 1-minute monologue and 32 bars of a Negro spiritual, Orisa song, or Akan spiritual song. Bring a headshot and a performance résumé. Rehearsals will begin on or around 9/20 in Laurel, MD, and there will be two (2) staged readings on 11/1 and 12/6 at the Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel, MD. If interested, please apply.
