Kids Needed for "A Christmas Story: The Play"
Looking for young actors ages 7–12 to join "A Christmas Story: The Play". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Rate: Actors in these roles will receive a $50-per-week travel stipend. Additional info: No experience required! Amateur actors will share roles and will perform in ½ of the performances. If you know a young person who loves performing, who’s not shy, who loves dressing up, and dreams of being on the stage, this is that chance! Past experience is not required. Perform alongside professional actors. Double cast, performing approximately half of the performances. The schedule is divided into: 1. Pre-Rehearsals: Tuesday 11/3 5 pm - 7 pm, and Sunday 11/8 10 am-1 pm 2. Staging Rehearsals: From November 9 to 22. Each week, young actors will rehearse up to 3 weekday evenings (4 pm to 8 pm) plus Sundays (10 am – 6 pm). 3. Technical Rehearsals: November 23-29 is “tech” and young actors may need to miss parts of the school day, though we will keep this to a minimum. Rehearsals may run as late as 9:30 pm, with most young actors called starting at 4 pm. 4. Preview/Opening Period: Entails both daytime rehearsals and evening performances on Tuesday, December 1, Wednesday, December 2, and Thursday, December 3. Rehearsals run from 11 am – 4 pm, and young performers may be asked to miss a portion of the school day for important last-minute rehearsals. Performances are at 7:30 pm each evening. 5. Regular Performances: From December 4 through January 3, there are performances on Wednesday through Sunday. This includes Wednesday/Thursday matinees at 2 pm, so young actors will have to leave school early for those performances. If interested, please apply.

Any ethnicity. Ralphie’s very studious classmate. She’s a natural leader and something like a child prodigy. Clearly, she’s going to get a PhD. Best friends with Esther Jane Alberry and giggles a lot. Doubles as: A Western movie bandit and a jungle explorer.
Aany ethnicity. Ralphie’s classmate and schoolhouse bully who routinely messes with Ralphie and his friends. He terrorizes the younger kids and regularly beats up everyone in the neighborhood, until Ralphie puts him in his place. Doubles as: The evil villain in a Western movie and a jungle explorer.
