About the project: "The Rookie Ghostbuster" is a fan film project inspired by the world of Ghostbusters, blending supernatural comedy, horror, and action with a whole lot of heart. The story follows 17-year-old Evan Miller, a smart but inexperienced teenager who lands a job working at a small, rundown Ghostbusters operation in Connellsville. What starts as a simple summer job quickly turns into something much bigger when Evan discovers that ghostbusting isn’t quite as glamorous as he imagined. After one very bad decision, Evan and his younger brother Mikey accidentally unleash a supernatural threat that has been hiding since 1997. Now, with the town becoming increasingly haunted, Evan must work alongside veteran Ghostbuster Louie Salandra, former Ghostbuster Sarah, and a few unlikely allies to uncover what really happened decades ago — and stop something that was never supposed to escape. It’s funny. It’s spooky. It’s chaotic. And it’s about what it means to make mistakes, take responsibility, and earn the right to call yourself a Ghostbuster. Something that has been hiding since 1997. Unlike an ordinary ghost, this entity can manipulate electricity, move unseen, and appear only when it chooses. The protagonist. Smart, funny, curious, and just confident enough to get himself into trouble. Evan desperately wants to prove that he’s capable of handling responsibility. When he gets the opportunity to work with Louie, he sees it as his chance to become something more. Unfortunately, Evan tends to act before thinking. His biggest challenge isn’t the ghosts. It’s learning how to deal with his own mistakes.
Evan’s younger brother. Small. Annoying. Fearless. And absolutely convinced he’s qualified to be a Ghostbuster. Mikey provides much of the comedy, but don’t underestimate him. When things get serious, his unusual way of looking at problems may prove surprisingly useful. He’s the kid who probably shouldn’t be there…but somehow always ends up being there.
