"Elf JR." Show Needs Boys and Girls

Students in grades 2 through 12 are invited to audition for "Elf JR." Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make every young performer embrace his or her "inner elf" with plenty of large ensemble numbers featuring elves and (New Yorkers) of every type. Additional info: WHAT TO EXPECT: -Sign in when you arrive -Fill out the Auditions Form -Review the audition songs & monologues you have chosen to prepare (copies will be provided if needed) -Stretch, relax, ​warm up your voice (vocal warm-up video) -Auditions will be one-on-one and take place as soon as you have completed the forms, or the person before you has completed his/her audition. AUDITION MATERIAL When you audition, you will sing two audition songs. Girls, please sing the following: “A Christmas Song” & “Never Fall in Love with an Elf” Boys, please sing the following: “A Christmas Song” & “World’s Greatest Dad” Optional for all: “There is a Santa Claus” Please prepare and memorize a monologue of your choosing from the characters listed on the audition materials page. *You may be asked to read other scenes from the script in the audition. Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 7:00 pm & Some scheduled Saturdays from 9:00 AM to Noon. Additional rehearsals include full-dress rehearsals on five weekdays leading up to the production, as outlined on the calendar below. Directors have closed rehearsals to allow students to focus and practice in the best environment. Performances: December 17th & 18th @ 6:30 PM and December 19th @ 2:30 PM Additional Valuable Information: Each student is expected to provide costumes and props for their cast character, which is a fun and exciting part of the production. Directors encourage thrifting and have an in-house seamstress to help with costume alterations. There are 2 parent meetings during the rehearsal schedule to discuss costumes, props, and craft days.
