About the project: Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton with a screenplay by John August, BIG FISH is a fantastical, heartwarming musical that follows the life of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life stories captivate everyone around him—especially his loving wife, Sandra. But their son, Will, about to become a father himself, is determined to uncover the truth behind his father’s epic tales. As Will embarks on a journey to understand the man behind the myth, BIG FISH explores the power of storytelling, family bonds, and the search for identity. Additional info: Special Skills Callbacks (by invitation only): Saturday, August 29 - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Vocal/Acting Callbacks (by invitation only): Sunday, August 30 - 3:30pm - 7:30pm Rehearsals: Weekday nights, September 8 - November 25, 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Saturday rehearsals may be scheduled, but actors will be given at least a week's notice. Tech at The Broadwater Theater: Sunday, November 29 - 10:00am - 10:00pm (Load/In & Tech). Actors are required to assist with at least 2 hours of load-in and will likely be called in the evening for tech. Monday, November 30 - Thursday, December 3 - 6:00 pm - 11:00pm (Tech & Dress Rehearsals) Please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of an audition song in the style of the show. (Alto): To play approximately 10 years old. Must be male-presenting. Edward’s son is precocious and intelligent. Is told all of Edward’s fantastic tales, but isn’t quite sure if they’re real. Vocal Range: Middle C (or octave below/above).
