Rate: Professional Artist Contract: $17.00/hr for rehearsal - $95.00 per performance Emerging Artist Contract: $45.00 per performance About the project: Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace! Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda is a delightful story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination. Additional info: Auditioners are asked to prepare sixteen measures of a musical theatre song with printed sheet music for the accompanist. There will be a brief dance routine taught by the company's choreographer and cold readings from the script. Rehearsal schedules generally consist of two or three evenings during the week and a weekend afternoon. All cast members are expected to attend all performances, without exception, since the company does not cast understudies. Tech week: October 3 - 8, 2026 Performance Schedule: Public Performances: October 9 - 25, 2026 Opening Night: Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:30 PM Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 4 PM, Sundays at 2 PM In-person auditions are preferred.
