Kids and Teens Needed for "Shrek Jr." Musical
Looking for kids in 1st grade and up for "Shrek Jr." Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Please prepare the following for your audition: Bring Your Best Energy & Stage Voice: Come ready to shine! Show your confidence, projection, and personality—directors want to see you at your theatrical best. Dress to Move: Wear closed-toe shoes that are safe for dancing. If you own jazz shoes and think you might be cast in a dancing role, please wear them. Bring Music (If Needed): If you'd like to sing with an accompanist, bring sheet music for your audition song. You may also choose to sing a cappella. Any song is welcome-even Happy Birthday or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star will do! What to Expect: Once everyone arrives, the group will be split into two halves; one half will begin with singing, the other with choreography. Time spent on each activity depends on how many actors audition that day. Parents are welcome to quietly sit around the perimeter of the gym during auditions. Please do not enter the sanctuary while singing is in progress. Cold Reads: After singing and dancing, directors may ask a few auditioners to stay for a cold reading (reading lines from the script). Not being asked to read does NOT mean you aren’t being considered for the show. Only certain roles require cold reads. Rehearsals: Mon-Thurs 4:30-6:30 (as your character is called) Show: November 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15 NEW THIS YEAR: You can audition for the Opening Act- this audition does not require a song or dance audition. And rehearsals on Wednesday from 6-7 pm (more required rehearsals the week before the show). Note that a fee will be applied. If interested, please apply.
