"Junie B. Jones the Musical JR." Needs Kids

Students ages 8-14 are welcome to audition for "Junie B. Jones the Musical JR." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie’s best friend Lucille has found new best friends, and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary’s class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard, and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament, and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting. Additional info: Students will prepare 16-32 measures of a song in the style of the show (or a favorite Broadway or Disney song). Please do not sing a song from the show. Students will need to bring a device with the song track on it (no additional vocals, please). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your audition time. Students will also participate in a cold read of the script with peers in their audition group. For the dance call, students will learn a dance combination. Please wear comfortable clothing and either jazz or athletic shoes. An audition form will be sent to each student the week before auditions. Mandatory tech week rehearsals will be October 12-15 as follows: Monday, Oct 12, 5:30-8:30 at Prairie Creek Baptist Tuesday, Oct 13, 5:30-8:30 at Prairie Creek Baptist Wednesday, Oct 14, 6 pm-9 pm at Presbyterian Village North Auditorium Thursday, Oct 15, 5 pm-9 pm at Presbyterian Village North Auditorium The show will be performed at Presbyterian Village North Auditorium on October 23-25: Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 7 pm, and Sunday at 2.
