ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Seeking kids and teens for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" play. See the details below. About the project: Based on the famous novel by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and book by David Greig. The score also pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film with songs from the motion picture including "Candy Man” , "I've Got a Golden Ticket”, "Oompa Loompa Song” and "Pure Imagination’. Additional info: CALLBACKS: September 6th @ 2pm Callback information will be posted Mid-August on the drama group website. WHAT TO PREPARE: Vocals - Please Prepare 16-32 bars of any song NOT from the show. Please bring sheet music with a piano line or a track no more than 90 seconds long. An accompanist and a Bluetooth speaker will be available. NO ACAPELLA SINGING Choreography - Auditioners are responsible for learning the dances on their own. A competitive and gum-obsessed girl who is among the Golden Ticket winners. Violet is a world-champion gum chewer and boasts of her accomplishments. She embodies the sin of pride. "Queen of Pop" is a pop-inspired song, reflecting Violet's obsession with fame and her belief that she is the best. The song incorporates modern pop elements and catchy hooks. A technology-obsessed boy who secures one of the Golden Tickets. Mike is obsessed with television, video games, and gadgets. He represents the vice of sloth or laziness. "Vidiots" has a modern and techno-pop vibe, reflecting Mike's tech-savvy nature. The song features electronic beats and digital sound effects, creating a contemporary feel. VOCAL RANGE: Bb4-G3 Tenor

Oompa-LoompasBoth genders9-12 y.o.All ethnicities

6-8 Children. They are the workers inside the factory helping Wonka create his candy ideas. They will double as children in Act 1 and Oompa Loompas in Act 2. Performers must sing and move well.
