Seeking Boys and Girls for "1776" The Musical

Audition for "1776" The Musical. Community members ages 13 and older are invited to try out. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This production of 1776 will offer a fresh, contemporary perspective. Some roles will utilize non-traditional and gender-bent casting to reimagine our founding history. In the spirit of Hamilton, breathing new life into these iconic historical figures will challenge traditional narratives while highlighting the timeless, universal nature of their struggle for independence. Additional info: Callbacks will take place on Wednesday and Thursday as necessary. Please prepare a one-minute section of a song from a musical that shows your range as a singer and an actor. Auditioners are welcome to select pieces from the show or one of their own choice. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Please note: if sheet music is not accessible to you, reach out to our team for assistance. When auditioners arrive, they will be placed in groups to sing first. Upon exiting, auditioners will be put into small groups to perform the choreography. Cold readings from the script will take place once the choreography section is done.
