Indie Short Film Casting Call

The Last Day of Recess uses a playground as a mirror for adult society, exploring government, capitalism, and social class. It turns a simple school break into a complex mini-civilization. The story focuses on the fifth-grade class on their last day of recess and how each of the characters navigates growing up and transitioning from childhood innocence to self-awareness and what their positions are in today’s society. Told through the perspective of two fifth graders who are on different spectrums of the class’s social hierarchy.
