Teen Actor Needed for "I Am Not Myself" Horror Short Film
Seeking actors ages 17 and up for "I Am Not Myself" horror short film. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: “I Am Not Myself” is a horror short film that uses possession as an allegory for mental health crises and asks who is responsible for the harm vulnerable people cause when they are unsupported and misunderstood, particularly when they are not “in control” of their actions. Rate: Due to the rules of the competition this film will be entered in, this opportunity is unpaid. Additional info: The film is set in one location: the suburb of Fox Hollow in Forney, Texas. Directors will be preparing the location, blocking, and rehearsing on September 8th, and then filming on September 15th & 16th. Directors will also need to schedule a photoshoot with the cast to create realistic "family photo" set dressing. Food and craft services will be provided. If you seem like a good fit, directors will reach out to you and may ask you to read some sides or perform something else to better understand your range and match you to the appropriate role. The main character becomes possessed by some vague occult influence before the film even begins. Stuck in a self-destructive loop and have failed to prioritize their mental health for their entire life. They are still living at home, unemployed, and ghosting their psychiatrist. Makes a lot of unnatural noises/movements and is the aggressor in a fight/chase scene toward the end of the film; the actor must be comfortable with the physicality acting the role demands, as well as having SFX makeup.
