Seeking Boys and Girls for "School House Rock" Show
Auditions are now open for the fall production of Schoolhouse Rock - Live! Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Rehearsals start September 1st and will take place in Monroe on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Tech week is November 2-5, with a total of 8 shows (November 6, 7, 8 & 13, 14, 15). Once you sign up, you'll receive an email with additional details about the audition, rehearsal, and show run. For your audition, we ask you to prepare a 1-minute comedy monologue and approximately 1 minute of a song that shows your range. The character list is below for reference. Role: The protagonist, a nervous teacher preparing for his first day. Vocal Range: Typically tenor, with a comfortable range from A3 to D5. Key Traits: Anxious yet enthusiastic, Tom embodies the challenges of teaching and learning.
Role: The romantic facet Vocal Range: Baritone, generally from G2 to B4. Key Traits: Charismatic and confident, George engages the audience with his energetic presence.
Role: A mature facet Vocal Range: Mezzo-soprano, spanning from A3 to E5. Key Traits: Clever and witty, Dina uses her knowledge of grammar to teach others.
Role: A sweet facet Vocal Range: Soprano, typically from C4 to G5. Key Traits: Bright and optimistic, Shulie brings a fun approach to learning math.
Role: A goofy facet Vocal Range: Mezzo-soprano, usually around A3 to D5. Key Traits: Curious and engaging, Maggie teaches scientific concepts with excitement.
Role: A cool facet Vocal Range: Baritone, generally from G2 to B4. Key Traits: Knowledgeable and passionate about history, Joe educates through storytelling.
