"A Wonderful Life" Show Needs Teens
Actors ages 16 and up are invited to audition for the "A Wonderful Life" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Frank Capra’s classic film has been brought to vibrant theatrical life through the remarkable collaboration of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Sheldon Harnick and Grammy and Emmy Award winner Joe Raposo. The story of George Bailey and his wonderful life in Bedford Falls remains a timeless fable of dreams, disillusionment, and the power of love. An uplifting chronicle of the extraordinary lives of ordinary folk, A Wonderful Life exhilarates the mind and heart as it celebrates the innate goodness in all of us. Rate: All actors 16 and above who are offered a role in the show will receive 2 comp tickets for the production. All actors 16 and above who are offered a role in the show will be paid a non-union stipend. Please note that since there are more than 18 performances, the stipend will be higher than normal. PPC performers using their partnership perk for casting will not receive a stipend. Additional info: Participants will be singing and dancing on one visit. Please plan to be at the Palace for about 90 minutes once your audition time begins. The vocal audition should consist of no more than one minute (16-32 bars) of a classic holiday song. Very specifically, this is not a pop or modern-sounding show, so when thinking of a classic holiday song, please take that into account. .. An accompanist will be provided, and we can also connect pre-recorded music from your phone via Bluetooth. Directors will not accept an acapella audition. If using pre-recorded music, please make sure to have the exact cut you will be using. Please have it downloaded and cued up prior to entering the audition room, and it shouldn’t include vocals. If using sheet music, please make sure it is in the correct key, with any cuts clearly marked, and that it is in a binder for the accompanist. Please note that your audition side does not need to be memorized. While directors prefer that you pick your own song, they realize it can be daunting for some people. Directors have provided this music cut for those who cannot choose their own. Callbacks on Tuesday, August 25 - 6:30p-10:00p Rehearsals are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28, 2026.
