"A Christmas Story" the Musical Seeks Kids and Teens

About the project: Based on the beloved holiday film, this heartwarming musical follows Ralphie Parker on his hilarious quest for the perfect Christmas gift while celebrating the joy, laughter, and importance of family during the holiday season. Additional info: All rehearsals during the month of August will also take place at the Ross E. Jefferies Parent Center while renovations continue at Osceola Arts. At a later date, rehearsals will transition back to Osceola Arts. Families will be notified well in advance of the location change, and an updated rehearsal calendar will be provided. At your scheduled time, you will perform your prepared song for the production team. Callback invitations will be emailed later that evening. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, August 2 from 6:00–9:00 PM. During callbacks, performers will participate in a brief movement combination and learn music directly from the show. Please prepare 16–32 bars (approximately one minute) of a musical theatre or holiday song in the style of the show. Directors encourage performers not to sing a selection from A Christmas Story for their initial audition. An accompanist will not be provided. Please have your instrumental or karaoke track downloaded to your device before arriving. A Bluetooth speaker will be available for you to connect to. Whenever possible, directors encourage performers to sing with a backing track rather than a cappella.
