About the project: Auditions for ConfettiFest XXII, the 22nd iteration of the annual festival of locally written one-acts. Synopsis: Two musicians, James and Claire, had a fruitful musical collaboration as they used their art to get them through their teenage upheavals. Now in their early 20’s, James and Claire have as James’ musical ambitions have led him to success as a solo act. However, he has been capitalizing on the work he did with Claire several years before, and when he wants to use that work on his debut CD, Claire balks, and they must battle over the ashes of their teenage friendship. In the end, James is left to survive on his own creative abilities, which may not be enough to advance his fledgling career. Additional info: Sign-in is at 6:30 pm. Auditions begin at 7:00 pm Auditions will consist of monologues and cold readings from the scripts. Actors are asked to prepare a 1-minute monologue of their choice and are allowed to read with the script in hand, if needed. Mandatory tech week is September 26 – October 1.
