"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" Needs Kids and Teens

About the project: The musical follows Rudolph as he leaves Christmastown after feeling like he does not belong because of his glowing red nose. Along the way, he meets other misfits before discovering that home is where he has belonged all along. When a storm threatens Santa's Christmas Eve journey, Rudolph's unique difference ultimately helps save Christmas. Additional info: Audition participants are asked to prepare a short a cappella song consisting of one verse that showcases their vocal range, along with a monologue, poem, reading, or similar selection that demonstrates character presentation and vocal projection. Those who do not prepare material in advance will be provided with a song to sing and lines to read during auditions. Tentative rehearsals are scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 13, Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, Oct. 11, Oct. 18, Oct. 25, Nov. 1, and Nov. 8, with additional 9 a.m. to noon rehearsals planned for Nov. 7 and Nov. 14. Attendance is expected, although conflicts disclosed during auditions will be accommodated. Mandatory dress and technical rehearsals are planned from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 15 and 5 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 16-18. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 22. Attendance is mandatory for all production dates. The theatre also asks parents and caregivers to assist with various aspects of the production during rehearsals and at least one performance. Parents and caregivers are not permitted to remain at rehearsals solely to observe. Note that a participation fee will be applied. If interested, please apply.
