About the project: As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen, and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he sets off on a journey to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. Adapted from the best-selling book by Rick Riordan, this is an action-packed, mythical musical adventure of epic proportions! Additional info: Callbacks: Saturday, October 31, 2026, 10 am-4 pm School Time Performances: February 11 & 12, 2027 Public Performances: February 12-14, 2027 PREPARATION: - All auditionees are required to prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song. Actors should bring their own sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Singing from a music track or singing acapella is discouraged. - Auditionees should choose a song that shows off vocal range, strong acting choices and that is ageappropriate. Pick the part of the song that most shows off your vocal range. - Memorization of your song is highly encouraged. - If you do not have a song, one will be provided for you at auditions. Songs are available ahead of time, one month before auditions, at the Spartanburg Youth Theatre offices in the kiosk at the end of the hallway when you walk down the stairs to our area. You may use one of these songs, or you may use one of your own choosing. - There will not be a dance call at auditions.
