About the musical: Jenna Rink is an adorably awkward 13-year-old girl who wishes she could skip over the misery of high school. When her birthday wish comes true, Jenna magically wakes up as an adult to find herself “thirty, flirty and thriving” – the editor of a fashion magazine with a seemingly perfect life. But as she begins to unravel the mystery of who she has become, Jenna is taken on a journey to discover what – and who – really matters. Based on the beloved 2004 film starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, with the film’s original star Jennifer Garner now acting as Executive Producer of this new stage adaptation, 13 GOING ON 30: THE MUSICAL is a hilarious and heart-warming celebration of the choices we make, the friends we choose, and the joy of never losing your sparkle. Age 11-14 to play 13. Jenna’s next-door neighbor/best friend from forever. Wears velour shirts, is a member of the AV Club — basically, the kind of kid middle school punches right in the face. Repeatedly. Sweet, smart, sarcastic, funny, Matt sees beyond the shallowness around him and is way too ironic for this 13 year-old crowd. He dreams of traveling the world as a photographer, but even at 13 he knows who he is, much more than Jenna does.
Character portrayed is Female, age 12-16 to play 13. A member of the Six Chicks who does whatever Lulu tells her to do. Seeking a performer who is a real teen (age 12-16). Must dance VERY WELL (at the competitive or equivalent level) and be comfortable with some singing.
