Teens Needed for "Inherit the Wind" Show
Seeking teens for "Inherit the Wind" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Inherit the Wind is a fictionalized account of the 1925 Scopes “Monkey Trial,” in which a young schoolteacher is put on trial for teaching evolution. But the play is not really about evolution, or even about religion. It is about the right of every human being to think — and the courage it takes to stand up when everyone around you is sitting down. Our production will be staged in an immersive configuration. The audience is not watching the trial from a distance — they are inside it. Every seat in the house is a seat in the Hillsboro courtroom. The audience is the jury. They are the congregation at the prayer meeting. They are the crowd that gathers to welcome Matthew Harrison Brady. Actors enter and move through the house. The action surrounds the audience on all sides. This is a stripped-down, contemporary staging — no period costumes, no elaborate scenery, modern dress, a diverse cast. Additional info: Auditions will consist of readings from the attached sides. No prepared monologue is required, though you are welcome to bring one. If you sing, please be prepared to share a short song or hymn. Please prepare to list any scheduling conflicts for the rehearsal and performance period. All experience levels are welcome - If you have a resume, please bring it. If interested, please apply.

A teenage girl from the town. Appears in the opening scene; devout and easily scandalized. A small but charming featured role.
