About the project: "Good Night Moon" is a coming-of-age story about Nila, a Tamil-American teenager entering her senior year, who discovers she throws up every time she gets close to a boy. What follows is a journey through friendship, family, trauma, and self-love - anchored by a relationship with her father that neither of them knows how to talk about. This is a serious, emotionally layered short film targeting festival submission, including the Indian Film Festival of Houston and the South Asian Film Festival of America. Nila is funny, guarded, and deeply feeling — she performs being fine better than almost anyone, and the film is about what happens when that stops working. She needs to be able to carry silence, find humor in dark moments, and cry without indicating. This role requires a committed, emotionally available actor who can anchor a 20-minute film.
