"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" Needs Teens
Talent in grades 7-12 are welcome to audition for "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination, including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels, and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas. Additional info: For those auditioning, please prepare the following: Auditions will include dancing, acting, and singing. Please note that all auditionees are eligible for all roles. Dancing: A short dance combination will be taught on site during auditions. Please wear jazz shoes or shoes that you can dance in. Acting: Please memorize and prepare one monologue of your choice for auditions (see the attachment). Additionally, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the other monologues, as you may be asked to read an alternate monologue (script provided) during the audition. You may also be asked to do cold or scene reading from a provided script. Singing: Please prepare a 30-45 second cut of one of the songs provided from the show. Other songs will be accepted. Songs from the show are preferred.
