6 Actors Needed for Declaration
Auditions for Declaration are on Saturday, June 13 from 12:30pm. The play Declaration takes place during a rehearsal. Six characters rehearse Declaration, a new musical based on the Declaration of Independence. Every word of the Declaration is included in this 45-minute musical play. The sometimes complicated sentences from the 1776 document will be read by the actors as if they were reading from their scripts. Since the play is a rehearsal, the actors have some additional dialogue between them which must be memorized. The actors will sing 5 or 6 songs making room for each actor's singing experience. The roles are of equal importance and are listed as Actor 1 - Actor 6. During the course of the play, childhood games are played while lines from the Declaration are spoken: Musical chairs, London Bridges Falling Down and Tug of War. For performances actors will sing to recorded music.
