About the project: Yes, this is a musical adaptation of Stephen King’s classic story about a teenage girl who goes from being abused at home and bullied at school to unleashing vengence on the entire student body on prom night. After a notorious Broadway debut in 1988, the show vanished from the musical theatre repertoire for years before returning in a brilliantly reworked and critically acclaimed 2012 New York production. At the center of this musical are Carrie and her mother, Margaret. Their relationship drives the story, and their scenes together provide the show’s most powerful and emotionally charged moments. Additional info: Performance Dates: October 23 – November 7 Rehearsals will begin the week of Tues, Sept 8. (Right after Labor Day) and will generally be weekday evenings and weekends during the day. Some conflicts will be able to be accommodated (as long as there aren’t too many) and not everyone will be needed for every rehearsal. Preparation: - Vocal auditions will begin at 6pm. Please arrive promptly at the start of the audition - Please prepare a song that shows a powerful rock/pop voice with a full range - You may also be asked to read from the script so be prepared to stay for the duration of the audition process - Bring a resume and photo to the audition.
