"The Voyage" Short Comedy Film Seeking Teen Actors
Casting call for "The Voyage," an upcoming comedy short; teen actors needed. See more details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The film takes place during the Viking age, and historically accurate costumes, weapons, and armor will be needed. Rate: Stipends, lodging, meals, and transportation will be provided. Additional info: Location: Twin Cities and Duluth, MN Filming will take place on weekends this June-August, according to the actors' availability. Scandinavian Accent. Role requires light fight choreography. Ragnhild is the daughter of the Jarl, but does not share his grandeur visions of conquest. She is much more grounded and practical, worrying about how her family’s farm will survive winter in the brutal north. Her father's devotion to doing anything BUT be helpful drives her insane. She is hopeless to convince her father to listen to her, until Saoirse comes up with a plan.
Irish/Scottish accent. Role requires light weapons choreography and handling prop weapons. Saoirse is a native of the island the Vikings have landed on, and fiercely protects her home and family. She waits to catch Ragnhild alone in the woods to make sure her message gets through. When threats do not work, she resorts to clever tricks. While rough around the edges, she also had a moment of sympathy for Ragnhild and all the stupidity she must endure.
