Young Talent Needed for a Short Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Casting a young actor ages 11-16 for a small non-speaking role in an independent short film. Please, see the details below. Rate: $150, paid on the day. Water and snacks will be provided. Additional information: Date: Sunday, June 14, 8:30 AM–10:30 AM. Location: Parkdale, Toronto. Scene: Exterior playground. Dialogue: None. A parent/guardian must be present for the full shoot. The role consists entirely of playing/hanging out on a playground: sitting on swings, hanging on the monkey bars if comfortable, sitting on the playground, and scrolling on a phone. The short is built of an ensemble of shots that explore how young people who rely on AI chatbot technology observe different forms of connection and increasingly turn to AI for comfort. The scene will be filmed from a wide, slightly elevated angle from a distance, with no equipment positioned above the actors. Since it is outside, the shoot is weather-dependent. Unless it rains consistently Sunday morning, directors are planning to move forward. When applying, please submit the following: Child’s first name and age; Availability on Sunday; Recent head shot/photo, if available; Any relevant experience, if applicable but not required; Parent/guardian contact info.
