About the project: Secrets of a Hawaiian Mermaid is a mythic romantic fantasy audio drama set in Hawai'i. After years away, Anela Fuller returns to Maui and begins to experience strange abilities, oceanic voices, and memories tied to a hidden legacy beneath the sea. As she reconnects with family, love, and the island she once fled, Anela discovers that she is connected to the ancient Syrenii — a mermaid-like oceanic people whose history is tied to Hawaiian legend, family secrets, and the protection of the sea. The series blends romance, family drama, supernatural mystery, magical realism, environmental themes, and immersive Hawaiian/Pacific Island soundscapes. Performers should be prepared for emotionally grounded storytelling, character-driven scenes, and voice work that may include internal monologue, dramatic tension, romance, grief, humor, fear, wonder, and mythic/fantasy elements. Rate: This is a non-union production. At this time, all roles are unpaid.
