Youth Theater Audition for "It’s a Wonderful Life" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking one boy ages 9-12 for production of "It’s a Wonderful Life". More details are below. About the play: On Christmas Eve, a tired bank clerk begins to wonder if his quiet life has made any difference at all. When a mysterious stranger grants his offhand wish to never have been born, he’s given an unexpected holiday lesson. As church bells ring and storefront lights glow, George slowly realizes the true value of community, shared responsibility, and simply being there for one another. Philip Van Doren Stern’s 1943 short story The Greatest Gift inspired the classic Paramount Pictures film It’s a Wonderful Life. Now, Saskatchewan theatregoers can experience this endlessly resonant tale through a new, world-premiere adaptation by homegrown playwright Joey Tremblay. Additional informaiton: Only children living in the Regina area will be considered for these roles. Production Information First rehearsal:Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Opening: Friday, November 27, 2026. Closing: Sunday, January 3, 2027. If selected for an audition, your child will be asked to prepare: Short scenes from the play that will be provided to you in advance. Directors will send specific instructions on how to prepare and perform these scenes in the audition. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION is Monday, June 8th. Please, see the attachment. Male-presenting role. One youth performer will play both roles. This track will be double cast. Young George Bailey is a bright 12-year-old boy, who is focused on his life plan of leaving his hometown and starting a life of adventure. He is wise beyond his years and has inherited his father’s sense of social justice.
