Seeking Teens for "Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed"

Looking for youth actors ages 12 and up for "Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: the Rock Experience". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The show is based on a book by popular children’s author Mo Willems and follows Wilbur the naked mole rat, who decides to break out of the boring world of being an unfashionable mole rat and, for the first time in naked mole rat history, wear clothes. This show may be based on a children’s book, but at its core, it is a story about letting people into our communities regardless of their race, beliefs, or gender identity. This is the kind of story that all ages deserve to be a part of right now. Additional info: Everyone auditioning will be asked to bring 32 bars or approximately a one-minute-long snippet of a rock song that shows off your range and incredible singing voice, along with piano/vocal sheet music for your song of choice to be sung with a piano accompanist at auditions or an instrumental/karaoke recording without vocals that can be cued up and played on your device. It is highly recommended that you memorize your song selection. Auditions will start off by having everyone sing their prepared song (32 bars/one minute) with a recording or piano accompanist. Then there will be a short movement call where everyone will be taught a short and simple dance combination, and auditions will end with some fun scene work, where everyone will get to try playing different characters and use their unique voice. Rehearsals will take place on Monday through Thursday from 6:45-8:45 p.m. on June 29 through August 6. In the final week of rehearsals, actors will be called at 6 p.m. and asked to stay slightly later. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal, and schedule conflicts will be respected as long as they are made clear prior to auditions and they are not during the final week of rehearsals/performances. Performances will be on August 7 at 6 p.m. and on August 8 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will take place at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 West Broadway Street, in Winona.
