About the project: Inspired by the most famous ballad in American history, a legend that gave birth to new genres of music and storytelling, comes an all-new chapter in the unfinished saga of "man versus machine": JOHN HENRY VS. MARCH 21. The fight isn't over yet! When mama brings home a robot ("Mach 21") to be Bobby's new father, Bobby seeks out the legendary John Henry, the only man who can stand up to the machine. Created by award-winning playwright and composer Stephen Gashler, families will love this timeless tall tale brought back for a twenty-first century follow-up. Filled with laughs, fantastic music, and thought-provoking themes, there's nothing quite like this steel-driving, heart-pumping comedy. Additional info: Callbacks (by invitation only) - will be held by appointment during the week of June 7 - 13. Rehearsals - held primarily in Springville and Spanish Fork from June 15 - July Aug 12 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Times will be longer for technical and dress rehearsals. Holidays will be taken off, and not all actors will be needed at all times.
