About the project: In Alice by Heart, set during the London Blitz of 1941, young girl Alice Spencer seeks refuge from the horrors of war in her beloved storybook, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, as she grapples with the impending loss of her best friend, Alfred, who is suffering from tuberculosis. As Alice and Alfred escape into a dark version of Wonderland, they encounter various characters that reflect their struggles with grief, love, and the harsh realities of adulthood. Ultimately, Alice must confront her feelings and accept the painful truths of her life while finding hope amidst despair, as she learns what it means to grow up. Callback Date: Thursday June 11th from 5:00-8:00pm Read Through: Tuesday June 16th from 5:00-8:00pm (parent meeting for first 10 minutes to go over cast code of conduct.) Tech Week: Monday August 3rd through Thursday August 6th. (No absences allowed unless discussed with directing team) Rehearsals will begin June 16th. Prepare a 32 bar cut (1 minute) of a song that best showcases your voice and demonstrates a connection to the character you are auditioning for. Please bring your sheet music clearly marked and in a binder, an accompanist will be provided. No karaoke tracks will be allowed and acapella auditions are highly discouraged.
