About the project: In the Senior Division, students ages 10-18 who live outside of an NCC Chapter City (Los Angeles, New York, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, Boston and Chicago) refine their musical skills to a superlative standard through virtual instruction, that is then paired with live performances around the country, presenting world premieres and collaborating with an exceptional roster of professional artists from around the world. Additional info: Senior Division: Intermediate through Advanced Virtual Choir Training Individualized Virtual Music-Reading & Theory Instruction Live World-Class Performances, including Carnegie Hall & Walt Disney Concert Hall Elective International Tours & Summer Opera Academy The Senior Division audition will consist of the following elements: 1-on-1 Vocal Assessment with an NCC Conductor on Zoom Vocal exercises (repeat short scales given by the conductor to evaluate vocal development and range) Pitch matching (repeat pitches given by the conductor to evaluate intonation) Solo Piece—a song of the applicant's choosing that best shows the student's vocal and expressive capability. The piece must be sung a cappella; a starting pitch may be requested. Suggested pieces include "Caro Mio Ben" or "The Star-Spangled Banner". If interested, please apply.
