"Addams Family"- Audition for Boys and Girls
Auditions for "Addams Family" are open to those aged 12 to 18 at the time of auditions. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Callbacks will be by invitation on May 31st at 5 pm. Show dates are August 7, 8, 14, 15 at 7:30 p.m. and August 9 & 16 at 2:30 pm. No conflicts for tech week or performances will be accepted. Auditions will consist of vocals and choreography. Auditionees should prepare 60 seconds of a song in the style of the show. Please bring a track or a YouTube link to the track to auditions – no a capella auditions will be accepted. You may sing a song from the show if you choose. Choreo will be taught at the audition; please dress prepared to move. A video of the dance audition will be available at scponstage.com soon for those who would like to prepare in advance. Callbacks will consist of additional vocals and reading from the script. Callback sides will be available soon. Rehearsals will be three to four times per week until tech, likely Tuesday-Thursday evenings, with some weekend afternoons possible. Some rehearsals during July may be off-site at a nearby location. (Pop Tenor): Wednesday’s fiancé who, while normal, shares an unexpected dark side, allowing him to connect with the Addamses.
(Baritone/Tenor): Lucas’s uptight, cynical father who is initially uncomfortable with the Addams family.
(Soprano/Belt): Lucas’s mother, a suburban housewife who often speaks in rhyme. She unleashes her hidden wild side during dinner.
(Ensemble): Ghosts from various eras summoned from their graves to help tell the story and guide the family, featuring prominently in dance numbers.
(Bass): The towering butler who speaks in groans and grunts. He has a commanding presence.
(Character Voice): A feisty, quirky, 102-year-old woman who is wise but often chaotic. She is often depicted as, or believed to be, the mother of either Gomez or Morticia.
(Tenor): Wednesday’s younger brother who loves being tortured and worries about losing his sister’s attention.
(Tenor): The childish, enthusiastic narrator who often breaks the fourth wall. He is “lovable and incorrigible” and serves as a vaudeville-style comedian.
(Soprano/Belt): The morbid daughter who has fallen in love with a “normal” boy, causing her to change her outlook.
(Mezzo-Soprano/Alto): The cool, sophisticated matriarch with dry wit, who fears losing her daughter’s closeness.
(Baritone/Tenor): The enthusiastic, passionate patriarch devoted to Morticia and his family. He struggles to keep Wednesday’s secret.
