"The SpongeBob Musical" Needs Boys and Girls
Kids in grades 6-8 are welcome to audition for "The SpongeBob Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: The audition process will consist of four steps. First, directors will ask the student to briefly introduce themselves and their song. Second, the student will perform a 60-90 second song. Third, they will provide the student with a short line from the show and ask the student to perform the line in different ways. This exercise is meant to challenge students' improv and acting skills and, therefore, isn’t something they are expected to prepare beforehand. Fourth and finally, the students will learn a dance audition as a group and then perform it together. The life force of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob dominates the stage with his positive energy and infectious joy. This iconic character will require an actor that is comfortable making a fool of themself, and who can brighten the auditorium with their smile. Impersonations and quick tone shifts will be needed, and a strong belt!
The genius scientist from the tree dome, Sandy is a powerful squirrel from Texas. She uses both her brains and her Karate skills to save the day. Another strong belter!
SpongeBob’s BFF. Not always the brightest, but that doesn’t slow him down. Strong comedic talents necessary, and flexible vocals!
Trapped at his low paying job, and living between the two numbskulls, Squidward just wants to escape and make it as an artistic star. Dry sarcasm and a grumpy demeanor necessary, tap dancing optional!
The money hungry owner of the Krusty Krab. Eugene just can’t seem to keep the right things in focus! Looking for someone who can play a shrewd businessman and a poor father.
Always scheming, this one called organism is the key antagonist. Villainy, a touch of romance, and some serious rapping skills are what we’re after!
Sheldon’s wife and true source of brains. Another strong and sarcastic character with a touch of romance. Not a very involved singing role. But maybe some beatboxing???
The ignored teenage daughter of Mr. Krabs. All she wants to do is enjoy her music. Strong vocalist needed!

Pearl's favorite rock band! All members will require strong energy and stage presence.
The primary news anchor of bikini bottom. Someone who can be serious and occasionally dire. Written as a bass part, but we have a plan for any voice.
SpongeBob’s number 1 fan! Confidence for audience interaction will be a must. Comedic and obsessed.
The iconic Emcee of the show. Disembodied voice with, as you guessed, a French accent. Spoken role.
