Fairy tales collide in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s dazzling musical where wishes are granted and curses sing. Follow Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), and a Baker and his Wife on a wickedly witty adventure through the tangled woods of hope and heartbreak — with a spellbinding score and razor-sharp lyrics. As their paths intertwine with witches, giants, and princes, “happily ever after” begins to unravel, revealing what really happens when wishes come true. Don’t miss this Tony Award–winning classic that turns ‘once upon a time’ into something extraordinary. Rate: All performers are guaranteed a $100 honorarium for rehearsals plus a $15 honorarium per performance. This is strictly a non-union production. Additional info: Rehearsals will begin no earlier than Tuesday, September 8. The rehearsal schedule will be provided in advance of the first rehearsal, based on performer availability. The production runs October 23 – November 22, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. No conflicts with technical rehearsals or performance dates will be permitted. (Note: There is no evening performance on 10/31. An ‘industry evening’ performance will be added on Monday, November 9, to replace the performance on Halloween.) DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION. Please prepare a 1-minute cut of a musical theater song in the style of Into the Woods that showcases your vocal range, emotional depth, and your warmest, most beautiful sound. Please use piano accompaniment or a karaoke track (singing a cappella is strongly discouraged). You are welcome to sing from the show. Submissions are due by Tuesday, May 12, at 6 pm.
