"Brown Waters" - Short Film

Looking for children in the Atlanta area for a NYU Thesis short film called Brown Waters. They will play as extras and must know how to swim. Shoot dates will take place from June 9 -15th. Synopsis: Brown Waters is a coming-of-age film set in the Bible Belt of the Deep South that explores the fragile passage from girlhood to womanhood. Adena, on the cusp of finding her own autonomy, begins to question the world around her when she’s abruptly forbidden from spending time with her church friend, Mary Anne. Disturbed by her friend’s unexplained isolation, Adena sets out in search of answers. With her grandmother as a quiet guide, the familiar world she’s grown up in begins to reveal its cracks. When Adena uncovers the truth behind what happened, she must decide whether to uphold the life she’s always known—or gather the courage to carve out a path of her own.
