Pinafore” is a classic comic operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan, the songwriting team that charted the course for modern musical theatre. This lively and humorous tale unfolds aboard the British ship, the H.M.S. Pinafore, where romance, mistaken identities, and social satire set sail for a delightful adventure. Featuring a talented cast of students in grades 2–12, this production brings to life the infectious melodies and witty lyrics that have made “H.M.S. Pinafore” a favorite for generations. Additional info: Auditions are open to young performers from 2nd grade through 12th grade. Anyone auditioning should prepare to sing 32 bars of a “Golden Age” Broadway song in their key with accompaniment (sheet music is preferred). Rehearsals will begin in June and will take place during weekdays from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. “H.M.S. Pinafore” will be presented for four performances on Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and on Sunday, June 28, at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The performances are free and open to the public.
