About the project: Get ready to kick off your Sunday shoes and dance the night away with Footloose, the high-energy musical that celebrates the power of youth, resilience, and rock 'n' roll rebellion. Bursting with iconic hits like “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” and the unforgettable title track “Footloose,” this electrifying show follows city teen Ren McCormack as he shakes up a small town where dancing is outlawed. With explosive choreography, heartfelt storytelling, and a soundtrack that’ll have you grooving in your seat, Footloose is a feel-good crowd-pleaser that proves sometimes all it takes is one voice—and one dance—to spark a revolution. Additional info: Please prepare a short vocal selection that best shows your abilities and range (PLEASE Bring sheet music if selection is not from the show, but PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN MUSIC PRINTED FROM MUSESCORE) Wear comfortable clothing and footwear for dance audition. Tenor. Energetic, emotional, rebellious, likeable; emotes his pain through quirky sarcasm and dance; strong dancer.
Mezzo-Pop. Smart, a bit of the bad girl with an edge, sweet, the rebellious minister’s daughter; role requires strong belt, must be a strong singer/dancer.
Great soprano/pop voice. Ariel’s friend; a bit scatterbrained, sweet, fun, knows everything about everything; role requires strong belt, strong comedic timing and dance.
Tenor. A simple country bumpkin with a warm heart and a big smile; comedic timing and dance a must.
Tenor. The local bad boy and Ariel’s boyfriend.
Mezzo/Alto. Ariel’s friend; the smart one of the group; role requires strong belt, comedic timing, and dance.
