Nancy is a high school senior, about to go off to college. She is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that it's time for her to set off on her own, and that's scary. She fears feeling alone. She is a type of girl who wishes for everyone to get along and values being liked. She is timid, and it is hard for her to say how she truly feels because then she would have to admit it to herself first.

These girls are friends with Emma, who has passed. Even among these girls, there is a social ranking, and deep down, they wish to appear desirable and wanted. This group always has an underlying layer of competitiveness, but despite this, they still care for one another and bond over their similar interests and personalities.
