Casting Youth Actors for "Les Misérables"
Invites youth actors to audition for the “Les Misérables”. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Youth Actors must be born after Jan. 3, 2013, and must not turn 14 prior to Jan. 3, 2027. Youth Actors must be available for rehearsals, which begin at Syracuse Stage on Oct. 27, and for the entirety of performances from Nov. 27 through Jan. 3, 2027. Additionally, Youth Actors should note that the production schedule includes both morning student matinees and regularly scheduled matinees and evening performances. Youth Actors may be asked to come in prior to Oct. 27 to work with the music director. Rehearsals are not held on Mondays. Youth Actors will not be required to be at all rehearsals. Rehearsals for Youth Actors will generally occur on weekdays after 4 p.m. and during the day on weekends. These are non-union roles, and they will be cast with more than one actor to alternate performances. If interested, please apply.

Physically small. Vocal range top is C5, vocal range bottom is A3. Young Cosette is Fantine’s daughter and the Thénardiers’ ward. She has been forced into child labor. She is underfed, beaten by Madame Thénardier and bullied by Eponine. A sympathetic character. Young Cosette sings “Castle On A Cloud.”
Physically small. Young Eponine is the pampered daughter of the Thénardiers. She does little except taunt Young Cosette. The role requires no singing or speaking. This role will double with Young Cosette
Physically small. Vocal range top is G5, vocal range bottom is B3. Gavroche lives by his wits in the streets of Paris. His archenemy is Javert, the policeman. Gavroche is brave, witty, and arrogant, with a fantastic, unchanged voice.
