Production of "Gypsy" Seeking Kids and Teens
Opportunities available for kids and teens in "Gypsy" production. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Set in the golden age of vaudeville, Gypsy follows the ambitious and unstoppable stage mother Rose as she stops at nothing to make her daughters stars. With numbers like “Some People” driving her relentless pursuit of success, Rose pushes her younger daughter June into the spotlight, while shy Louise remains in the shadows. As the family crisscrosses the country performing acts like “Let Me Entertain You,” the world of show business begins to change, and cracks form in their tightly controlled lives. When June breaks away to find her own future, Rose turns her focus to Louise, urging her to step into the spotlight. In a bold transformation set to “You Gotta Get a Gimmick,” Louise reinvents herself as the sophisticated and iconic Gypsy Rose Lee. Rose, forced to confront her own dreams and sacrifices in the showstopping “Rose’s Turn,” must reckon with the cost of her ambition. Featuring a rich score by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, Gypsy is a powerful and poignant story of fame, family, and the pursuit of the spotlight.
